My Story

I didn’t always know I’d become a professional artist. In fact, it crept up on me quietly. I’ve often enjoyed admiring the little unnoticed moments in life - the way afternoon light would spill across a table, raindrops gathered on the flower’s petals or how fabric could hold a shadow like a secret. One day, I stopped just admiring them and began to draw them.

It all began many years ago. By day, I navigated the routine of a 9-to-5 life, but as the clock struck five, my true world came alive. In the quiet hours of evening, I'd retreat to my studio, pencils in hand, and let the world unfold on paper. Drawing was my sanctuary. As the nights wore on, my sketches evolved into stories, and my passion grew into an insatiable hunger to capture the beauty that surrounded me. Though my days were filled with the hum of responsibility, my nights were ablaze with creativity. And it was in this delicate balance that my art was born - a fusion of the everyday and the ethereal, forged in the fire of my imagination.

Eventually, I began to crave more - more colour, more texture, more depth. Drawing, once my solace, had ignited a fire that couldn't be contained. This is when I turned to painting. The transition was gradual, yet inevitable. My evenings, once dedicated to drawing, were now consumed by the alchemy of pigments and canvas. The more I painted, the more I realised that this was not just a hobby, but a calling.

As the world around me grew increasingly unpredictable, I found solace in the certainty of creation. Significant changes in my personal life - losses, shifts, and awakenings - seemed to unravel the threads of my old life, but in doing so, they became a catalyst for growth. I began to pour my emotions, experiences, and observations into my work, and I finally found a sense of control and purpose. The more I painted, the more I felt an inner calling to dedicate myself fully to my art. And so, I took the leap, embracing the freedom and challenge of being a full-time artist. It was a journey of self-discovery, experimentation, and evolution - one that continues to unfold with each new painting.

My current work explores the relationship between light and form, shadow and softness, solitude and beauty. I particularly enjoy capturing intimate still life, interior and landscape scenes. Every painting I create is an invitation to pause, to notice and to feel something subtle but stirring.

Thank you for being here, and for stepping into the stillness with me.

Yours sincerely,

Alina
